ReplyDeleteyou say he inflicts shame upon his family but he chose to follow his own path and do what he believes is right so how can that be a shame when he is living his life the way he wants to live?

ReplyDeleteAli i say he inflicts shame on his family because he himself believes this. On page 3 Chaim Potok says, "I am a traitor, an apostate, a self-hater, an inflicter of shame upon my family..." So as you can see Asher lev himself believes that he inflicted shame upon his family.
